Please donate to the G.L.O. Prison Ministry.
We currently minister in two prisons here in Colorado. Your donation will provide Messianic books, materials and study handouts to Messianic believers. We are the first Messianic ministry that actively volunteers in the Colorado Department of Corrections. Note: we are not a 501c3 but all donations will go directly to ministering to incarcerated believers. Thank you for your donation. If you are interested in the progress, check out the blog page.
It's about being the sheep and not the goats!
In Matthew chapter 25 we see the Messiah teaching we are not supposed to sit around and do nothing. The parable of the talents and the sheep and goats shows that believers in Christ are doers of the word! That we are to bring the light of the Messiah to the world through our good works. So take the time to read and figure out how you can be the hands of the Messiah and serve the King of Kings. You can preach the gospel, have bible studies, do food and clothing drives, etc. There is no limit on what you can do for the kingdom, you just need to decide and start doing it.

Frustrated in your walk with God?
"For decades I could not understand why I was having such problems with sin in my life. Certain sins kept popping up over and over. No matter how much I went to church, I had no victory. It was only when God showed me what I was missing in my walk with Him did things start to turn around.
Now I can understand how David could say, "Unless your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction." Psalm 119:92"

Big Problems in River City!
Is it possible that the 'christianity' we have today has changed since the time of the Messiah and the Apostles? Perhaps there has been a some subtle changes over time that have escaped our notice? What is the enemy's strategy for derailing God and His people? Is what we have been taught by well meaning pastors and religious leaders missing the mark of God's good doctrine? What if we believed a system where instead of loving God, we actually have ignored some very important instructions from God and taught others to do the same? Could a by-product of such a belief system be a reason why we are so frustrated in our spiritual walk? Could this be a reason on why so many people are continuing to have problems with certain sins?
During these last days many don't know they are responsible for testing what they believe. To walk a righteous and set apart life in this wicked world. We end up with millions of believers who have been tricked into thinking "the law has been done away with because we are under grace" & "we don't have to obey the law of God because Jesus fulfilled the law" however the apostle to the gentiles, Paul stated this...
"Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not!
On the contrary, we establish the law." Romans 3:30-31
So with this in mind, what is the strategy of the enemy is to get God's people to rebel and sin? Its rather simple, to get believers to either knowingly or unknowingly reject God's ways. Many think this is not possible however the scriptures talk about this in the New Testament...
"Let no one deceive you... for that Day will not come unless the great falling away comes first and the man of sin is revealed... who opposes and exalts himself above all... showing himself that he is God." 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
Whose slave are you?
So the enemy is bent on getting everyone to set himself up as God but how will he do that? Most christians say they would not follow a little evil red guy with a pitch fork and rightly so. However the enemy does not have to do this - all he has to do is to get people to believe a different doctrine that what God instructed in the beginning. A system that changes or does away with God's people obeying His commandments from their heart. If he can do that, then they would unknowingly be slaves to him. Consider this scripture...
"Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?" Romans 6:16
The enemy's strategy
So all the enemy has to do is to change how we view God's commandments. To get us to ignore the call for us to live in accordance with God's instructions that He gave for our benefit. This includes the times of celebration He set up for us, and the law or instructions He gave us to follow. We see this in the following passage...
"He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, and shall persecute the saints... and he shall intend to change the times (God's holidays) and the law (God's commandments). Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time" Daniel 7:25
The enemy knows that if he can get us to transgress the commandments of God knowingly or unknowingly then he is leading us off the path of salvation and righteousness. You see sin is transgression of the law as seen in 1 John 3:4 so what better way for the enemy to get millions of believers to do this, than changing their biblical world view and actually get them to think that obeying the law of God has been done away with! If this is the case then its easy to see how in the end days we will see a great falling away from the faith. How many will actually become slaves to the enemy because he has fooled them into thinking they don't have to obey God or His commandments because they are "New Covenant" believers. That the obedience, grace & love cannot co-exist together in christians today. If the enemy can get people to believe obeying God's commandments is evil legalism and if you do then your not loving God, then the enemy doesn't have to even appear in his red devil suit. Consider the following scriptures....
"Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says "I know Him" and does not keep His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk just as He walked. Brethren, I write no new commandment to you but an old commandment which you have heard from the beginning..." 1 John 2:3-7
"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments and His commandments are not burdensome." 1 John 5:3
Are you a hearer & not a doer?
Now many will still say they don't have to obey the commandments of God because Jesus "fulfilled" the law so they don't have to obey it today (ref. Matthew 5:17). This sounds good except there is a problem - its like saying if judge's son goes to the police academy and graduates with 100% on all his tests; in other words he fulfilled the requirements of the course perfectly, does that mean the law is done away with? Of course not. So we have the judge's son, the Messiah who lived a sinless life and is our example of how to live today. So we can love God and our neighbor by obeying His commandments from our heart. Not out of a burdensome obligation but out of love for Him; we obey because we are a NEW creature in Christ and we understand that IF we disobey we sin against God and that strains our relationship with the Father. Yet so many pastors and bible study leaders teach new believers that all you have to do is say the sinner's prayer and you get your 'get out of hell' free card. That you can sin all you want because He forgave all your sins, past present & future. If that was the case then there would be no need for the majority of the New Testament. Consider what the Messiah Himself said...
"Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?"
and then I will declare to them...
"I never knew YOU! Depart from me you who practice LAWLESSNESS!"
Lawlessness is living your life as if God had not given any instructions or commandments whatsoever. Its like having a rebellious teenager that breaks the rules of the house. When he/she does this it strains the relationship they have with the Father. Sometimes it even comes to the point where the rebellious "know it all" is kicked out because of they continue break the rules. Similar to what we see in scripture...
"If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered and they gather them and throw them into the fire and they are burned." John 15:6
Those are some harsh words but He is loving, kind, merciful and full of grace. So do we see a correlation between obeying the commandments and abiding in Him which results in us NOT being cast out and thrown into the fire? Yes we do...
What does God want me to do?
"Now he who keep His commandments abides in Him and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us." 1 John 3:24
"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you - abide in My love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you and that your joy may be full" John 15:9-11
So we do see a connection where keeping His commandments from our heart is how He abides in us. We are to be obedient to God's commandments, not because we have to but because we GET to! If a person tells you obey the commandments of God and there is NO life or joy in their lives then they are missing the boat. Be careful because the enemy has tricked a lot of people and one of his ways is stealing life, joy and peace from believers.
Anyway this is just a overview of some of the biblical proofs showing we should be obeying God and His commandments. Now its time for YOU to study the scripture to see WHAT we should be obeying. Warning! There are many well meaning pastors and laymen that will dissuade people for walking as the Messiah walked - the key thing to remember is that the only way their 'proof' can stand is if they add to or take away from God 's word. We warnings about this in both the Old Testament and New Testament...
"Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it" Deuteronomy 12:32
"... If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues of that
are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words...
(remember the passage of keeping the commandments of God
and having faith in Jesus in Revelation 14:12)
God shall take away His part from the book of Life..." Revelation 22:18-20
So now that you have seen some of the scriptures showing the importance to obey the commandments of God, we hope and pray you will take the time to study and test what is available here. Remember if you claim there is no need for believers today to be obedient to God's commands today, that will cause conflict with other parts of scripture and we know that God is not the author of confusion. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Amen
So what do we believe?
We believe the whole bible is true and applicable for believers today. This requires us to study and research the roots of our faith that includes the Sabbath, the Feasts of the Lord, His dietary instructions and much more. We look at the scriptures from a Messianic/Hebrew Roots point of view. We are saved by faith through grace and not of works that any should boast. So after we are 'saved' how are we to behave? How are we to live our lives? Yeshua (Jesus) was and is our example of how we are supposed to walk, in accordance with the commandments of God, not to attain salvation but rather as a by-product of our love for Him. It's how we love God and our neighbor ref. 1 John 2:3-5, 1 John 5:1-3, etc. By observing the commandments AFTER salvation we honor God and those around us.
